Ajay Walia — photographer first, teacher always
I picked up a camera professionally in 1984 and trained at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, later adding a diploma in animation and multimedia. Over the decades my studio work has covered product, food, jewellery, garment and advertising photography for brands including TATA Ceramics, Himalaya, PC Jewellers, Hindware and NDTV.
Somewhere along the way, teaching became half my life. I've served as photography faculty at DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation), Kurukshetra University and Lala Lajpat Rai Vocational Management College — teaching everyone from defence personnel to first-year students how to see light.
PhotographyGuru.in is the classroom version of everything I know: free, practical lessons for the lakhs of Indian sellers, restaurant owners and beginners who need better photos but were never taught how. No gear-worship, no theory for theory's sake — just what works.
